Description: Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) are chemically reactive molecules containing oxygen, for example peroxides, superoxide, hydroxyl radical and singlet oxygen. ROS are formed as part of normal metabolism; however during environment stress, ROS can increase dramatically and may lead to cell damage, known as oxidative stress. ROS generation has been implicated in progression of several diseases like atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes and neurodegeneration. To clearly understand the cell signaling events and disease progression elicited by ROS, it is essential to detect and characterize these species accurately. BioIntersect’s Cellular ROS Detection Assay uses a cell permeable fluorescent dye that measures peroxyl, hydroxyl, and other ROS activity within the cell. Our kit provides an easy and sensitive assay to reliably measure ROS in cells.
