Description: Cell Invasion is the ability of the cells to become motile or migratory and navigate through the extracellular matrix within a tissue or infiltrate to neighboring tissues. Metastasis begins with the invasion of tumor cells into the stroma and migration toward the blood stream.
Determining the migratory and invasive capacity of tumor and stromal cells and understanding the underlying mechanisms is most relevant for novel strategies in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, drug development and treatment. BioIntersect’s Cell Invasion assay provides an easy-to-perform, quantitative and sensitive method of measuring Cell Invasion. These assays are used to also test the efficacy of small molecules or antibodies that inhibits cell invasion.
